Rate types allow you to apply a general resource type in your rules and then link it to an actual resource using classifications.
What is a Rate Type?
Rate Types enable a single set of rules to be applied to multiple resources, depending on a selected classification. Common Rate Types include Normal Time, Double Time, Overtime, and Shift Work. When these Rate Types are assigned to a resource through a Classification, "Normal Time" would be designated as "CW2 - Normal Time."
How to create a new Rate Type
A new rate type is created by going to the Rate Types tab and selecting Add New Item.
Rate types can be edited or deleted using the ellipse menu at the end of each row.
Ensure that rate types are not in use before deleting them.
Other Uses for Rate Types
Rate types can also be used for Plant Items or Materials.
For example, a Plant item could include Day Shift, Night Shift, GPS, Hammer, Grab and other attachments as rate types. Classifications are then configured for each plant item to apply the correct resources on the docket.
